Sr. Open Source Partner Manager

HeroDevs is seeking a Senior Open Source Partner Manager who will play a pivotal role in managing the lifecycle of our products from concept to market launch. This role reports to the Vice President of Strategic Partners, and requires a unique blend of technical expertise and business acumen to identify opportunities, develop strategic plans, and build strong relationships with open source communities and partners. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in the software development space, experience in business development, sales and creating strategic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Open Source Community Partnerships: Build and maintain strong relationships with open source community leadership and project owners. Act as the main point of contact between open source communities and HeroDevs. 
  • Business Development: Through strategic alignment with open source communities, identify and pursue strategic business opportunities to support end-of-life software via HeroDevs enterprise product offerings. Act as an architect in how HeroDevs and the open source community will best serve the community, as well as HeroDev Customers.  
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Partner with HeroDevs product and engineering to lead the end-to-end process of product creation. Manage and oversee the development of HeroDevs offerings from initial concept, to market launch, and post-launch support. Ensure alignment with open source community requirements, customer needs and HeroDevs strategy.
  • Marketing & Positioning: Collaborate with the marketing team to advise on and implement marketing strategies that effectively position our products in the marketplace. Collaborate on the creation of marketing materials, product demos, and promotional campaigns.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape. Provide insights and recommendations to inform product development and business strategy.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical role, with additional experience of 1-2 years in a business development, partnership, sales, or a similar role.
  • Robust technical background with a deep understanding of open source software.
  • Excellent problem solving, project management, attention to detail, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical ability and able to prioritize multiple projects
  • Exceptional relationship management skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Ability to see around corners, predict and eradicate blockers, collaborate internally and externally
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Adept business and marketing acumen, with experience in developing and executing various strategies.
  • Strong Entrepreneurial, communication and leadership skills.
